How to Become a Member of Les Clefs d'Or Canada
APPRENTICE MEMBERSHIP
1. What you need to know before you apply for your first key:
a) Must be a Concierge employed in and paid by a hotel for a minimum of two (2) consecutive years and must have participated in a minimum of 8 monthly meetings in the 12 months prior to application. Candidates must meet the criteria for membership in Les Clefs d'Or Canada. They cannot vote.
Note: Past experience as a non-hotel Concierge does not qualify towards membership. Persons who have graduated from an accredited concierge program, and who are employed full time on a Concierge desk, will be recognized to have Concierge work experience equivalent to one year.
2. Application packages must be submitted to the Vice Director of your local Region two months prior to the National Board Meetings (ie: NBM is in November, application due mid September). Package to include:
a) Resume and a cover letter to your Vice Director
b) Letter of support from your Chef Concierge and/or General Manager
3. At the regional meeting in the month pnor to the National Board Meeting, you will be required to make a brief presentation to all present (including non-members) about yourself and why you wish to become a member of Les Clefs d'Or.
4. The Full Members of your Region will vote on your application at the end of this meeting. Listed below are some of the points that will be taken into consideration: attendance at monthly meetings of Les Clefs d'Or (8 per twelve month period) grade received on evaluation through anonymous test calls involvement and participation in the Association professional and ethical conduct
5. If your application has been accepted:
a)You will receive a phone call from the Vice Director of your local Region
prior to the next meeting.
b) At the next meeting you will be presented your key.
c) You will be invoiced for:
(i) Membership. dues are $300* and may increase from year to year.
